Please return this application and additional papers to the secretary,
at the address shown at the top of the application form
Please feel free to discuss any aspect of the application form first with
the secretary, who will be pleased to help. Don’t worry if you can’t
complete all the questions at this stage: it is best to discuss your project
with the secretary at the beginning, so that he can advise whether it is
the kind of project that the Trust can help.
Please remember that the Trust usually only funds projects close to the
landfill site in South Ockendon – in practice this includes South
Ockendon, North Stifford, Stifford Clays, Grays and Blackshots north of
Lodge Lane, Aveley, Kenningtons, and Purfleet west of the railway line,
and Orsett and Bulphan. If your project is outside these areas, please
discuss it first with the secretary; you will need to demonstrate how your
project will significantly benefit residents from those areas, or why it
should be seen as a special case. Where necessary the Trust will take into
account the difficulty of raising funds from alternative sources.
Please remember that the Trust can only support projects that comply with
the requirements of the Landfill Communities Fund (formerly the Landfill
Tax Credit Scheme). The secretary can advise on these requirements.
If you would like to fill in this form on your computer please let the
secretary know and he will be happy to e-mail the form to you.
The Veolia Mardyke Trust receives funds from the Veolia ES landfill site
at South Ockendon under the Landfill Tax Credits Scheme, together with
substantial voluntary donations from Veolia ES (UK) Ltd. itself. However
the Veolia Mardyke Trust is a completely independent registered charity,
and all decisions are taken by a board of voluntary trustees.
The Veolia Mardyke Trust is committed to trying to benefit the environment
and communities in it’s target area in Thurrock, and welcomes applications
from groups in and serving these communities.
